Accommodation

Accommodation is provided on site in single, twin or small dormitory rooms, with shared bathroom facilities. For the mixed courses, girls and boys are separated either on different floors or in separate buildings, each cared for by our experienced pastoral team. For the Malvern Experience the girls will be living in separate dedicated accommodation.

Each building house has common rooms which provide a space for pupils to relax with televisions, games, pool tables / table tennis tables, books and other provisions.

Malvern College Summer School was a very exciting and wonderful journey full of great memories. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

Catering

All meals are included in the course fee.

Pupils are served breakfast, lunch and dinner during their stay with a choice available at each meal. Meals are offered in the Gryphon Room where pupils dine with their friends, and refreshments are available from boarding houses throughout the day.

While on off-site excursions, either packed lunches or other dining arrangements are provided.

Please note that we are able to cater for most religious and / or dietary requirements including allergies and intolerances. These must be discussed with us upon booking so that provision can be made in good time.

Malvern and The Local Area

Known for its outstanding beauty, Malvern is a place offering more than just a landscape. With plentiful attractions surrounding the Victorian Spa Town
there is much to explore and discover from the enchanting Eastnor Castle to boat cruises along the River Severn.

Malvern also boasts an exceptional and packed calendar all year round. Home to the RHS Spring Festival, the Royal Three Counties Show, and Malvern Theatres there is something on offer for everyone.

Malvern is well-connected to regional and national airports and rail hubs, 2 hours from Heathrow, 1 hour from Birmingham international, and 2.5 hours by train from Paddington Station in London.

Transport

We advise parents to liaise closely with us about your children’s travel arrangements in to and departing from the UK to avoid any difficulties in onward travel or accommodation.

Transport is available between the Heathrow or Birmingham airports, and Malvern College, using our network of trusted and carefully vetted drivers. All transport required during the course for excursions is also included in the course fee.

We understand that some parents will choose to travel with their children, if that is the case arrival times are between 3pm and 5pm on the 1st or 15th July, and departure is between 9am and 10.30am on the final morning.

Wi-Fi, Mobile Phones and Staying in Touch

Malvern College has excellent wi-fi facilities, and this will be made available to pupils during their stay. However mobile phones will not be permitted during certain activities and lesson time and we will ask pupils to hand them in for safe keeping as lessons start. They will be returned to them at the first available opportunity, which is normally the next meal time.

Phones are also not permitted at bedtimes and will be kept in a safe place overnight. A good night’s sleep makes all the difference!

There will also be regular updates to parents from our Summer School Staff with news, photos and highlights of events and activities
