The Harvard Model Congress Young Leadership Programme, in association with Learn with Leaders and Malvern College, is a 7-day residential program (June 29th-July 6th, 2025) designed to empower teenagers to become leaders and changemakers. Students aged 12-17 will launch impact initiatives under the guidance of current Harvard University Students.

Through leadership activities, problem-solving, and group collaboration, participants will develop innovative solutions to today’s most pressing challenges. The program culminates in a hands-on project with measurable outcomes.

Participants receive a certificate from Harvard Model Congress upon completion.

Programme Details

Dates: 29th June to 6th July 2025 Programme fee: £2,435 inc VAT
Ages: 12 to 17 (Eligibility: Grades 6-12) Boarding Program: 7 nights and 8 days
Location: Malvern College, Worcestershire, UK English Level Required: B1 Level of English (minimum) 

This course is one week and we recommend a two-week programme by joining our Summer School on Sunday 6th July.

  • Workshop: Global Citizenship and Social Responsibility
Day 5
  • Leading in the 21st Century

  • Applying to Ivy League Institutions
  • Final Presentations
Day 6
  • A full-day excursion off-campus on the day 6th of the program where students will experience life outside the classroom

Meet the Harvard Model Congress Mentors

Matt Tibbitts, Senior Member, HMC Team

Matt, a junior in Eliot House, studies Applied Mathematics, Economics, and Environmental Science. He previously served as the Secretariat for Harvard Student Agencies MUN and is currently the Senate President in Harvard Model Congress. Additionally, he works as a legislative director in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. During his senior year of high school, Matt was elected to the Massachusetts Board of Elementary and Secondary Education, representing over 954,000 students. He spoke at education conferences, was published in a national policy journal, and enjoys playing board games and drums in his free time.

Adrián Muñoz Krans, HMC Team

Adrián is a sophomore in Pforzheimer House, studying Social Studies. He currently sits on the board of Harvard Model Congress’s Boston conference and was previously a board member for their San Francisco branch. When he’s not doing model congress, Adrián teaches speech and debate to middle schoolers and has worked alongside the Institute of Politics to advise the city of Cambridge on urban agriculture initiatives. In his free time, he writes poetry, reads fiction, and maintains a daily journal.

Nahla Owens, HMC Team

Nahla is a sophomore at Harvard. She hopes to study Government and Educational Studies and work in education policy after graduating. When she’s not working with Harvard Model Congress, you can probably find her rehearsing with Expressions (the hip-hop dance group), teaching 5th graders about civic engagement with the CIVICS program, or organizing events for the Institute of Politics.

Ryan Jung, HMC Team

Ryan is a sophomore at Harvard from Irvine, California studying Social Studies with a secondary in educational studies. Along with his role in HMC San Francisco, Ryan serves as the Director of Operations for Harvard Model Congress Boston. Outside of HMC, he enjoys teaching civics to fifth graders, film photography, and finding the best iced coffee in Boston.
